I recall reading an article some years ago that claimed that the introduction of secure payment systems on the internet was pioneered by the porn industry. Also (and for this we have to attempt to be grateful because it does fund a lot of websites that would otherwise be expensive or non-existent) the porn industry introduced the first Pop-Ups. This may or may not be true, but it has the ring of truth doesn't it. I understand that porn sites are infested with pop-ups, never having visited any I couldn't say for sure {insert embarrassed looking smiley here}
