Being a greedy bastard, I can't choose just one. Really, so many of these things are what completes a life...one without others would make life somewhat lacking....and I have other ideas as well...;)
Oh...I was going to get all into Maslow's heirarchy...but I didn't want to bore everyone to tears...so I'll stand with my first answer...
To make it to the next day without losing my sanity and look forward to the day when I can do what I want, when I want, and with whom I want...
Well many of those depend on your point of view. Accomplishing my dreams would give me financial security and the amount of power I so crave. My views of excitement would clash somewhat with most peoples views of security so I would rather have excitement. Knowledge is something that anyone can continually gain as long as they keep their eyes and ears open. Love comes in the end after you've reached your goals and can dedicate enough time to enjoy and appreciate it as well as give it in return.
love, accomplishment, knowledge, Money is always good to have but not high on the list because you can't take with you when you leave this earth and it does not matter how much you have. I am a veteran of a earlier war and want to see the world and learn everything there is about it and the people as well from learning from older veterans from their wars who are leaving us day to day. And of course love from my wife which is most important to me.
Never really thought about it... I'll get back with you.
I want it all, and I want it on a nice little silver platter, and I want it delivered!
My goal is just to live each day to the fullest...to try to better myself...my actions...my thoughts...to be more pleasing to myself, my husband and kids, and most importantly, my God. And to raise my children to know, trust, love ,and live for Christ.
Accomplishment, love, knowledge, security and to belong to and not own the planet.GW, what do you strive for?
I have a vision of what my life should be, and I have dedicated it to creating beauty and goodness in this universe. Of course, good sex is not only beautiful but can also be VERY good!Interesting blog. Thanks for sharing. I'll be back often.
Hard to choose just one. Love can lead to excitement and security, can inspire accomplishment and power, and gives its own special kind of knowledge. So out of all of those things I would say love is the most powerful. But that could just be because I am an incurable romantic. What I strive for, though, is inner peace. That's what it's all about at the end of the day, I think. If you can be at peace with yourself and what you've done with your life then you're not doing too badly.
To have a loving family and raise my kids well.
There are two things I strive for in life, and I'm afraid they sound a bit Pollyanna'ish (yay! I made a new word!) Anyway, the first is to give my kids a clean fighting chance at a happy and healthy life. The second is to try to make a positive impact on the lives of everyone I encounter as much as I possibly can.
I strive most for witty sex kitten. and free shit. and two leather club chairs.
Knowledge, yes, always. But also harmony and (personal) peace. And joy. Rosie
Ed stole my inner peace. *snicker*Peace is important to me, though. Too many years went by in turmoil and then I realized that if I wanted to be sane I had to search for peace.Almost as important is success. Not the generic, fame and fortune success, but the FEELING of success. Like I've done something right, something that furthers my big picture of personal success. It's a bit different from accomplishment somehow, but I won't go into philosophical blatherings here in your comments.
Love. The kind of love that makes you want to be the best person you can be.Well, that and the most wonderful life I can provide for my daughter.Ellen
Accomplishment... the others are a result of this for me.
The security and well being of my seven year old son. Everyting I do is for him and because of him. 7 years ago he saved my life and I've told him that. ithout him I would not be here and now I spend my life being there for him.
