Nocturnal Orgasms

I know I've talked about it quite a few times before, and I've grown curious as to why such a thing happens and how common it really is.

The last three nights in a row, I've had very vivid erotic dreams that end with me waking up and experiencing an intense orgasm. More intense even than those acquired through intercourse or other intimate means with Rick or even through masturbation. Friday night's dream brought on such a powerful climax, that I had abdominal cramps for a few minutes, something I've been assured is normal and completely unharmful to the little peanut in my tummy.

Anyway, I found it interesting that the first several searches I came across, mostly religious it would seem, blamed the phenomenon on the devil or demons.

Medieval theologians posited the existence of "incubi," demons who had intercourse with women while they slept (the "succubus" is the equivalent for males). Witches claimed to have had intercourse with the devil in this way, and were sometimes put to death on account of it--a grim indication of the depth of male paranoia regarding female sexual response.

One site with a resident "Dr" noted that nocturnal orgasms are caused when the 'epicenter' or female prostate is compressed perhaps by a tilted uterus during sleep. I don't have a tilted uterus, and these dreams occur in several different sleep positions which would seem to cancel out some sort of compression or other disorder causing the contractions.

Another study suggested that the person experiencing the 'wet dreams' was fufilling through sleep what they were neglected in their sex life. This is laughable to me, at least in my situation.

Isn't it possible that nocturnal orgasms are simply caused by a vivid imagination and the ability to turn yourself on? A simple sexual release, rather than some sort of odd disorder? I enjoy these dreams very much, and have never felt that they were an illness or some sign of sexual frustrations.

Its certainly a nice way to start the day.

I have talked to many women about their experiences with devils and know a few things about them from personal experience (my experiences started when I was about 12). Some years ago, I was listening to Christian radio and heard tell of the Incubus a devil that molests women while they are sleeping. The speaker's comments immediately struck a cord in me because I had been there. As I look back, I remember a movie entitled, "The Entity" (which I watched in my unregenerate days) which was supposedly based on a true story where a woman was continually molested by a devil, an Incubus...I've also recently seen a business by the name of Incubus, strange... For men, the devil is called Succubus. Even King James VI & I wrote about the Incubus in his treatise, Daemonologie.

Many people use the word, "demon" to describe Satan's minions, but that word is not found in the Bible (Authorized King James 1611 is the Bible). The word is "devil". When we do unclean things or even think unclean thoughts, we open the door for Satan to get an advantage over us. I have received e-mails from a number of people who are concerned with the state of lustful wickedness that their mind has gone to. Even teensy-tiny bits of unclean wicked things are unacceptable--pornography, tv, movies, secular (or any kind of romance) books, lasciviousness, filthy communications, filthy friends, etc. all break the protective hedge of a Christian. Yes, I said Christian--myself included. Jesus said "the flesh is WEAK".

I haven't had the pleasure of a full-fledged wet dream since I was in my mid-twenties, but from those experiences I can assure you that they weren't from neglect in my sex life. In fact, they occurred during one of the most sexually active and stimulating times of my life ...

They say that the mind is the biggest sexual organ in the body, and in dreams it has the freedom to make anything more vivid and sensual than "real life". Although I'm not a Dr. nor a psychologist, my suggestion would be to just lay back, relax and enjoy them! (And congratulations on little peanuts!)

Wow. This is an interesting area of study. If you want to go strictly from a Christian view point, the possibility of molestation from an incubus or succubus should no longer be a valid one. At the rik of ticking some Christians off, angels and demons are pretty much the same creature All of them started out as part of the heavenly host, when Lucifer and a group revolted, and then were cast out of heaven into the void, which is where later God creat Earth... speaking strictly from the Bible. there was a time when both angels and demons were able to breed with humans. Their resulting children were called the nephthalim. They were also called giants, I.E. Goliath. There came a point, (And I'm researching to try to figure out exactly where) that God said enough is enough, and he sealed off the realm of angels and demons. They are still allowed to be present inspiritual form, allowed to influence human beings, but assuming physical form is supposed to be impossible. So I doubt your pleasant dreams with the more than pleasant ending are a result of demon molestation.

I think it's more likely that your libido is increased because of the influx of hormones, and your body has found a way to enjoy that where actually physically doing it is difficult and not really fully enjoyable right now with fatigue and morning sickness Just my opinnion.

That Anonymous comment - was that you, GW, playing a little game on us? Whoever it was surely can't be serious. Can they?

I think I'll go with your conclusion, GW - that seems the most sensible to me.

Wow - just a bit of the religious insanity coming out of people. Hey - it's just a dream - enjoy and get on. Angels, demons - oh man - let's not go nuts.

I can offer two things:

1- Congratulations GW. You're lucky indeed to get an extra freebie through the power of your subconscious.

2- God works in many ways. One of those is that he designed our bodies to be perfect. Natural childbirth is an athletic event and you need all the muscle tone you can muster. Contractions, whether due to Kegel exercises, induced or uninduced orgasms, intercourse in general, and unfortunately menstrual cramps, all help to tone those muscles. If you believe that God made our bodies to be perfect, then you have to give him credit for intending us to have orgasms. Pregnancy horniness? Yep, God's idea again. Keep the man close and interested while at the same time conditioning those muscles.

Or maybe it's the Devil. But in that case you must assume that either God made a mistake in designing our bodies to orgasm or that the Devil actually designed our bodies.

Oh no not another God and Devil design idea. Gee - is there nothing random anymore? Is everything designed? Is the idea of us just being us not good? Gee - send a message through a bottle - succubus, incubus, angel, devil, imp, - how about just a horny woman sleeping well and getting off in her dreams.

No Ed, it wasn't me. lol

I am endlessly surprised at the fanatical religious comments on this blog, considering my sinful content. But what is life without surprises?

I'm curious what someone with such concern over impure thoughts (Anonymous 1 above) is doing reading blogs, especially GW's blog.

Sin though? I haven't seen any sin here.

Remember that orgasms, like dreams, happen in the mind. And dreams are generally the mind's way of blowing off steam. Frankly, I've never put much faith in dream interpretation.

Wow.
I've had many over the course of my life, and never did a religious meaning ever enter my mind...

I think it's just a great imagination. It certainly doesn't mean your sex life is lacking (I can attest). Maybe it only happens to the hornier among us, I don't know.
As a matter of fact, I had one this morning myself. Hurrah! Best way to start the day, indeed.
And hormones may have something to do with it. I was a lunatic nympho when I was pregnant. Won't hurt the peanut a bit. Mine turned out 10 pounds, and there was a LOT of sex going on (mostly with myself but we'll not talk about that).
Did you have these before pregnancy?
Congrats, by the way. Uh, on the pregnancy. (laughs) Well, both the pregnancy and the orgasms, I suppose.

GW, I too experience similar sensations...and I am inclined to believe it is due to a change in hormone levels as it occurs for me more frenquently the week before/during my period and the most intensly during both of my pregnancies.

If you want to keep those vivid dreams coming (pardon the pun) you should try Brilliant Dreams (www.brilliantdreams.com). They sell a supplement for dream enhancement that makes dreams more vivid/realistic and also easier to remember. I say just enjoy those dreams and try not too look into them too much!

I just started having Nocturnal Orgasms and just found out that they are not Nocturnal Releases but orgasms. My Finace and I just started a Christian relationship after living together for almost 2 years. We have decided to wait till we are married to have sex again. While trying to stop and failing many times with masturbation, I decided to buy and read a book on sexual immortality and how to control my sexual thoughts. I am almost totally successfull with this except for I just started waking up having orgasms. The 1st time I was humping her (night before last & I don't remember having any dreams) and then last night I woke her up feeling more horny than I have ever been in my life. I thought to myself this is my body just releasing the "72 hour" build up. But she suggested of sleeping in another room. This thought broke my heart. Ya, I am a guy that cryed about my fiance sleeping in another room. She told me I needed to get control over this before it breaks us up. No stress here, no weight on my shoulders!! I like sex and I know she does also. I try to get her to comunicate with me more, but she just doesn't like talking about sex and our sexual feelings. I think she thinks it turns me on. It does a little but understanding her more really helps me out.
